CHRONOSWISS
Chronoswiss stands as a compelling chapter in modern horological history, born out of conviction in 1983 when master watchmaker Gerd-Rüdiger Lang founded the brand in Munich amid the turbulence of the quartz crisis with a clear mission to revive and elevate traditional mechanical watchmaking. From its earliest years, the company championed mechanical integrity and innovation, introducing defining timepieces such as the Régulateur in 1987, which established its now-iconic regulator-style dial alongside signature design cues like the onion crown, straight lugs and fluted bezel. Over the decades, the brand expanded its technical horizons with groundbreaking creations like the automatic skeletonised chronograph and pioneering complications that married horological heritage with inventive mechanical expression.
In 201,2 the next chapter of Chronoswiss began when Swiss entrepreneur Oliver Ebstein and his family took the helm, relocating the atelier to Lucerne, Switzerland,d while preserving the founder’s ethos of craftsmanship and mechanical depth. Today, the maison continues to craft timepieces in small, exclusive batches that reflect a philosophy they define as Modern Mechanical — a tribute to traditional watchmaking elevated by sculptural dials, artisanal finishing such as hand-guilloché and enamel work, and contemporary design language that appeals to discerning collectors worldwide.
