The Big Pilot's Watch Top Gun Edition “Mojave Desert” from IWC showcases a sand-coloured ceramic case, adding to the already impressive TOP GUN series. These watches are expertly designed and crafted for the most skilled pilots in the US Navy, providing exceptional performance in the cramped cockpit. The durable and scratch-resistant ceramic material is perfect for daily wear and is inspired by Navy pilot flight suits and the surrounding desert landscape.
The ceramics used in this timepiece are created through a refined process of shaping and sintering powdered raw materials at high temperatures. The unique sand colour is achieved by blending zirconium oxide with other metallic oxides in a precise ratio. The dark brown dial and sand-coloured rubber strap with textile inlay perfectly match the case, creating a cohesive look. Powering the watch is the IWC-manufactured 52110 calibre, reinforced with ceramic components and builds up a power reserve of seven days in two barrels – more than enough even on extended missions.
