Time is displayed through URWERK’s distinctive satellite system, with three rotating hour satellites travelling around a central flying carousel. A retrograde hand indicates the minutes across a dramatic 240-degree arc before returning to its starting position in just one hundredth of a second.
Powering this kinetic display is the UR-50.01 automatic calibre, featuring a double turbine regulation system, 38 jewels and a 43-hour power reserve. Completed with a Grade 5 titanium case back and high-performance hybrid rubber strap, the Golden Scorpion combines precious materials with the unconventional mechanical engineering that defines URWERK.

The UR-150 Golden Scorpion is limited to only 25 pieces worldwide, combining the advanced mechanics of the UR-150 with a 2N yellow gold case for the first time in this expression. The use of yellow gold is particularly striking within URWERK’s futuristic design language, contrasting a material traditionally associated with classical fine watchmaking with satellite hours, retrograde minutes and highly contemporary case architecture.
Instead of conventional central hour and minute hands, the UR-150 uses URWERK’s distinctive satellite hour system. Three hour numerals rotate around a central flying carousel, with the active hour aligning with the retrograde minute hand. This hand progresses across a 240-degree scale to indicate the minutes. At the completion of the hour, it returns to its starting position in one hundredth of a second while the next satellite moves into place, creating a highly dynamic way of displaying time.
The self-winding UR-50.01 calibre has been engineered around the complex requirements of the UR-150 display. A cam-and-rack system works with a dedicated speed regulator to synchronise the rotating hour satellites and extremely rapid retrograde minute return. The calibre also incorporates a double turbine regulation system, operates at 4 Hz and contains 38 jewels. When fully wound, it provides approximately 43 hours of power reserve.
Yellow gold deliberately creates tension between traditional luxury and URWERK’s unconventional approach to mechanical watchmaking. Rather than giving the UR-150 a classical appearance, the precious metal accentuates its sculptural surfaces and complex geometry. Different sandblasted, microbead-blasted and satin finishes manipulate how light moves across the case, allowing its form to appear different depending on the angle of the wrist. It makes the URWERK UR-150 Golden Scorpion as much about material and form as its extraordinary mechanical display.
