The Ulysse Nardin Freak X Blue brings one of modern watchmaking’s most radical ideas into a more refined, everyday form. Created for 2026, a year marking both Ulysse Nardin’s 180th anniversary and 25 years of the Freak, this latest-generation Freak X has been completely reengineered with a more compact 41 mm case, an integrated steel bracelet and the all-new in-house UN-232 automatic calibre.

Instantly recognisable as a Freak, the watch replaces traditional hands with a flying carousel movement that rotates around its own axis to indicate the minutes, while the hour display is read from the dial-side pointer. The result is a timepiece that feels mechanical, architectural and alive on the wrist.

The blue gradient sunburst dial gives the Freak X Blue a striking sense of depth, set within a monobloc stainless steel case crafted with contrasting satin-brushed, polished and hand-finished surfaces. Designed for greater wearability, the 41 mm case is paired with sapphire crystal, 100 metres of water resistance and a quick-release interchangeable strap system for effortless versatility.

Inside, the UN-232 calibre is slimmer, smarter and mechanically more advanced than the previous generation. Produced at Ulysse Nardin’s Manufacture in La Chaux-de-Fonds and assembled from start to finish by a single watchmaker, it comprises 216 components, 27 jewels and delivers a 72-hour power reserve. Its high-tech regulating system includes an oversized silicon balance wheel and balance spring, alongside a DIAMonSIL escapement wheel and anchor.
