GMT BALANCIER CONVEXE 42.90 MM LIMITED EDITION OF 22

Greubel Forsey unveils a new interpretation of its GMT Balancier Convexe – more refined, more wearable, and more complete than ever before. While it shares its name with a previous creation, this timepiece represents a significant evolution. With a more compact case, an integrated power reserve display, and even more technical and aesthetic finesse, it is the ultimate expression of the GMT complication according to Greubel Forsey.

The Terrestrial globe remains the central element of this creation – a miniature Earth rotating in real time over 24 hours, nestled within an amphitheatre-like architecture. Flush with the sapphire crystal, it is surrounded by multiple layers of timekeeping indications: local time, universal time, a second time zone, as well as the distinction between day and night.

The mechanical spectacle continues with the signature 30˚ inclined balance wheel, suspended in space beneath a perfectly black polished steel bridge and flanked by a small seconds display. A newly integrated 72-hour power reserve adds a practical and visual enhancement, without compromising the balance of the dial.

This entire horological construction is housed in Greubel Forsey’s signature Convexe case – in titanium, with a more compact form. Measuring 42.9 mm at the caseband, it offers improved ergonomics while maintaining the brand’s signature architectural profile. The domed sapphire crystal, the three-dimensional bezel, and the integrated lugs underscore the sculptural nature of the timepiece, which can be worn on a titanium bracelet or hand-sewn rubber strap.

The art of invention

At the core of Greubel Forsey lies a relentless commitment to invention. Since its inception, the Atelier has secured more than 70 patents and introduced ten Fundamental Inventions, each designed to deliver meaningful advancement in mechanical watchmaking. Innovation is approached with purpose, refining chronometric precision, enhancing mechanical performance, and expanding the expressive potential of the timepiece.

This philosophy is embodied in creations such as the Tourbillon Cardan, distinguished by its multi-axis, three-cage construction and fluid, gimbal-inspired motion, as well as the Nano Foudroyante, which incorporates a patented nano-mechanism uniting flying seconds, a tourbillon, and manual-wind flyback functionality within a remarkably compact case. Each development is a stepping stone, forming the basis for continued evolution across the collection.

A modern masterpiece of pure handcraft—Greubel Forsey’s Hand Made 2 redefines haute horlogerie through patience, precision, and passion.

Where movement becomes architecture

At Greubel Forsey, every design begins with the movement, shaping a three-dimensional architecture where mechanics and aesthetics are inseparable.
