A Dial That Defies Time

At the crossroads of iconic design and ancestral craftsmanship, Girard-Perregaux unveils the Laureato 42mm—a timepiece that brings one of the Maison’s most recognisable silhouettes into dialogue with the rare art of Grand Feu enamel.

Since its debut in 1975, the Laureato has become an icon of fine watchmaking, celebrated for its instantly recognisable architecture, in-house movement, and refined finishing. With its 42mm stainless-steel case, octagonal bezel set upon a circular base, and integrated bracelet, this creation preserves the collection’s essential codes while introducing a breathtaking grey Grand Feu enamel dial that gives the watch a new sense of depth, permanence, and light.

Mechanical Precision: The GP01800 Calibre

At the heart of the Laureato 42mm beats the Calibre GP01800, a self-winding mechanical movement entirely designed, produced, assembled, and adjusted by Girard-Perregaux. As one of the Manufacture’s spearhead calibres, it reflects the Maison’s commitment to technical reliability, traditional finishing, and integrated watchmaking expertise.

Operating at a frequency of 4 Hz and composed of 191 parts and 28 jewels, the GP01800 calibre combines everyday performance with refined execution. Through the sapphire crystal caseback, the movement reveals its gold oscillating weight decorated with Côtes de Genève, offering a glimpse into the craftsmanship that animates this contemporary Laureato.

A Grey Grand Feu Enamel Dial: Depth, Fire and Permanence

The identity of the Laureato 42mm is expressed through its grey Grand Feu enamel dial, created using one of watchmaking’s most demanding decorative crafts. Born from the transformation of powdered glass under intense heat, Grand Feu enamel offers a depth and permanence unlike conventional dial finishes.

Its grey tone brings a sophisticated, almost mineral character to the Laureato’s architectural form, allowing light to move across the surface with subtle intensity. Elegant, enduring, and rich in artisanal complexity, the dial becomes the emotional centre of the watch: a surface shaped by fire, yet defined by refinement.

Every timepiece reveals the mechanics that define it.

The art of visible precision

Girard-Perregaux watches are defined by a distinctive balance of technical mastery and architectural design, where the movement is not hidden but intentionally revealed as part of the aesthetic identity. Rather than treating mechanics as purely functional, the Maison integrates them into the visual language of the watch, creating timepieces where bridges, plates, and gear trains become design features in their own right.

This philosophy is most famously expressed through the signature Three Bridges construction, a structural approach that transforms the movement into a visible, symmetrical composition, blending engineering precision with sculptural clarity.

The geometry of time

Giraard Perregaux expresses time not as abstraction, but as structure. Measured, visible, and deliberately formed through engineering precision.
