The URWERK UR-103T Mexican Fireleg is one of the most recognisable and collectable expressions of early modern URWERK. Produced in a limited edition of just 60 pieces, it represents the moment when the brand fully asserted its identity through bold colour, unconventional materials, and a radical approach to displaying time.

The watch takes its name and visual inspiration from the Mexican Red Knee tarantula, often referred to as the Mexican Fireleg. This influence is expressed through vivid red/orange accents that contrast sharply against the dark case, creating a striking and unmistakable presence on the wrist. It was a daring aesthetic choice at the time of release and one that has since become emblematic of URWERK’s willingness to challenge traditional watch design.

The case is crafted from steel and titanium and coated with black TiAlN, a material chosen for its durability, technical appearance, and lightweight properties. Measuring 36 mm wide and 50 mm long, the UR-103T sits comfortably on the wrist while maintaining a strong sculptural profile. The crown is positioned on the top of the case, a defining feature of the UR-103 series and one that reinforces its instrument-like character.

At the heart of the UR-103T is URWERK’s signature satellite hour display. Four rotating hour satellites travel along a 120-degree minute arc at the lower section of the dial, offering a dynamic and intuitive way to read time. This system was central to URWERK’s early philosophy and remains one of the brand’s most important contributions to contemporary watchmaking.
