Arnold & Son Perpetual Moon 41.5 Steel “Colours of the Moon” Black
The Arnold & Son Perpetual Moon 41.5 Steel “Colours of the Moon” Black presents a dramatic interpretation of the Maison’s signature astronomical complication. Limited to just 18 pieces worldwide, the watch pairs a black PVD-treated mother-of-pearl dial and moon-phase sky with the natural depth and changing reflections of mother-of-pearl.
The expansive celestial display places the Moon at the heart of the design, complemented by luminescent constellations that bring the night sky to life in low light. The use of PVD-treated mother-of-pearl across the composition represents a world first in watchmaking and gives the Black edition its distinctive character.
A 41.5 mm stainless steel case houses Arnold & Son’s in-house A&S1512 manual-winding calibre, delivering a 90-hour power reserve. Visible through the sapphire crystal case back, the movement combines refined hand-finishing with a secondary moon-phase display for precise adjustment of the astronomical indication.

A Contemporary Interpretation
Reimagining the Perpetual Moon in Steel
The Arnold & Son Perpetual Moon 41.5 Steel “Colours of the Moon” Black introduces a darker, more contemporary character to one of the Maison’s defining astronomical creations. Stainless steel brings a cooler architectural quality to the 41.5 mm case, creating a striking frame for the depth of the black celestial display while offering a different expression from more traditional precious-metal moon-phase watches. Its polished surfaces respond to the changing light across the dial, balancing dramatic visual presence with refined proportions. Produced in only 18 pieces worldwide, the Black edition demonstrates how Arnold & Son continues to reinterpret classical astronomical watchmaking through modern materials, distinctive colour and considered design.

Arnold & Son Perpetual Moon “Colours of the Moon” Black FAQs
Stainless steel gives the Perpetual Moon a distinctly contemporary presence while allowing the celestial display to remain the visual focus. The cool tone of the metal contrasts with the darker dial and provides greater versatility on the wrist. At 41.5 mm, the case maintains the generous proportions required to showcase the astronomical complication while remaining refined in profile.
The transparent case back reveals the A&S1512 manufacture calibre alongside a second moon-phase indication. This secondary display incorporates graduated markings that enable precise adjustment of the moon phase shown on the front of the watch. It also provides an uninterrupted view of the calibre’s architecture and traditional decorative finishing.
Arnold & Son finishes the A&S1512 with a combination of traditional haute horlogerie techniques. The bridges feature radiating Côtes de Genève and hand-bevelled edges, complemented by perlage across the main plate and snailing on the wheels. Blued screws feature polished, chamfered heads, adding further detail to a movement designed to be appreciated through the sapphire case back.
