A Testament to Constant Precision

At the crossroads of marine chronometry and exceptional Swiss craftsmanship, Arnold & Son unveils the Constant Force Tourbillon 11 Platinum—a timepiece that pays tribute to the watchmaking genius of the Maison’s founder while crowning 260 years of horological heritage.

Housed in a 41.5mm platinum case, this final opus of the Constant Force 11 collection is limited to 11 pieces. Elegant, technical, and deeply symbolic, it brings together a patented constant force mechanism, a tourbillon inspired by one of watchmaking’s most storied friendships, and a hand-engraved gold dial that evokes the wild landscape of Cornwall, birthplace of John Arnold.

Mechanical Mastery: The A&S5219 Calibre

At the heart of the Constant Force Tourbillon 11 Platinum beats the Calibre A&S5219, a manual-winding Manufacture movement developed by Arnold & Son. Conceived as a tribute to the pursuit of stable energy and chronometric excellence, this calibre places the constant force mechanism between the main gear train and the tourbillon, ensuring a perfectly regular transmission of power.

Operating at a frequency of 3 Hz and offering a 100-hour power reserve, the A&S5219 calibre reflects the Maison’s mastery of precision timekeeping. Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, its architecture reveals the bridges and tourbillon in a composition inspired by the historical dialogue between John Arnold and Abraham-Louis Breguet.

A Constant Force Mechanism: Energy Made Visible

The identity of the Constant Force Tourbillon 11 Platinum is expressed through its patented constant force mechanism, visible directly on the dial. Designed to regulate the energy delivered from the barrels, this ingenious system eliminates variations in torque that could disturb the balance’s oscillation.

Second after second, the mechanism rearms a finely adjusted spiral, ensuring a stable flow of energy to the tourbillon cage. This system also creates a true-beat seconds display, indicated not by a traditional seconds hand, but by the tip of a hand-blued anchor that also serves as a structural bridge for the mechanism.

A Fern-Covered Dial: Cornwall in Gold

The dial of the Constant Force Tourbillon 11 Platinum is crafted from 18-carat yellow gold and hand-engraved with Arnold & Son’s “fern” pattern. Executed in the tremblé style with a burin, its irregular yet harmonious surface evokes the fern-covered moors around Tintagel in Cornwall, where sea winds, mist, and legend shaped the world of John Arnold.

Meticulously pierced to accommodate the concave white opal hours-and-minutes sub-dial and the constant force mechanism, the dial becomes both a decorative landscape and a mechanical stage. It weaves together nature, history, and precision, transforming timekeeping into an ode to heritage and elemental beauty.

THREE FOUNDING PRINCIPLES

ASTRONOMY, CHRONOMETRY AND WORLD TIME

Astronomy, Chronometry, and World Time form the core identity of Arnold & Son. Through finely crafted complications and subtle references to its maritime heritage, the Maison continues to draw inspiration from these three founding principles, each one reflecting the enduring legacy of John Arnold.

HERE, ELSEWHERE, EVERYWHERE

World Time redefines the way we perceive time by seamlessly integrating global time zones into watchmaking. At Arnold & Son, it is more than a function—it reflects a commitment to connectivity, precision, and innovation.
